FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Will you provide a free estimate?
Yes, we do! One of our experts in the field will contact you within 24 hours of receiving your request (usually much quicker) to schedule a convenient time to meet with you and discuss your home project. We will provide a free external inspection and an estimate to complete the project as you desire. We’ll educate you on the latest products and trends related to your project and are more than happy to offer our advice.
How soon can you start my project?
We can begin work as soon as the details are agreed on and the contract is signed. This will ensure we understand your expectations and we all agree to the details of your project.
How do we pay you?
We will agree to a plan before the project commences detailing the costs of your project. Usually, a partial deposit is due by the time we start work. The balance due upon completion. For larger-scale projects, payment may be expected at various points of the project and will be clearly spelled out both verbally and in the contract to avoid surprises. Our financial specialist is happy to help advise you on finding local lenders who can help you apply for home equity lines of credit, if necessary, to fund your project. We accept all standard forms of payment from all major credit card companies.
Is your company insured?
Savage Builders is fully insured. In addition, we collect liability insurance certificates from any subcontractors and vendors we use on our projects.
What type of crew will be doing the work?
We use the highest quality trained professionals and skilled workers. All of them are fully insured, and they meet all licensing requirements. The majority of the work is done by our in-house crew who only work for Savage Builders. We have a skilled internal staff that is dedicated to Savage Builders projects only. Most general contractors will subcontract a lot of the work and act as the middleman managing the project. This can lead to higher costs for the homeowner.
Will my project be in compliance with my city’s zoning & building laws?
We pull the applicable permits and have our work inspected as required by the municipalities we work in. We urge our clients not to work with contractors who don’t pull permits for their work or ask the homeowner to pull the permit. Pulling permits, and following through with the inspections requires a little more time and money, but it is there to protect the homeowner. The inspector’s job is to make sure that projects are done in a workmanlike manner following the current codes and safety procedures.
What materials will be used for my project?
All projects are different and require various products and materials. Depending on the type of project, we will showcase the product options available. Our experts in the field can explain the benefits of each product and the latest trends in technology. We have relationships with all the local suppliers, so we can shop around to achieve the best price for you. This allows us to pass on the savings to our customers.
